Electrocoagulation & Electrooxidation Test Equipment | PREDEST - YASA ET Group

Updated: Feb 16, 2023

Since electrocoagulation is becoming more and more popular all around the world, YASA ET Group offers custom made Electrocoagulation and Electro-oxidation Test Equipment for all its clients to test the treatment effects of this technology on their wastewaters.

What Is Electrocoagulation?

Electrocoagulation (EC) is a technique used for wastewater treatment, wash water treatment, industrially processed water, and medical treatment.

Electrocoagulation has become a rapidly growing area of wastewater treatment due to its ability to remove contaminants that are generally more difficult to remove by filtration or chemical treatment systems, such as emulsified oil, total petroleum hydrocarbons, refractory organics, suspended solids, and heavy metals.

Electrocoagulation Principle

In its simplest form, an electrocoagulation reactor is made up of an electrolytic cell with one anode and one cathode. The electrocoagulation system essentially consists of pairs of conductive metal plates in parallel, which act as monopolar electrodes. It requires a direct current power source, a resistance box to regulate the current density and a monitor to read the current values.

The conductive metal plates are commonly known as "sacrificial electrodes." The sacrificial anode lowers the dissolution potential of the anode and minimizes the passivation of the cathode.

When connected to an external power source, the anode material will electrochemically corrode due to oxidation, while the cathode will be subjected to passivation. These ions released in the water neutralize the charge of the solution and destabilize it as a result. The sacrificial anodes and cathodes can be of the same or of different materials, such as iron, aluminium, BDD, etc.

Electrocoagulation and Electrooxidation Test Equipment

The Electrocoagulation lab test equipment is a very useful tool to assess this treatment technology before committing to a full size treatment system.

Electrocoagulation Test Equipment Features

  • Two sizes available: 1L, 5L, 20L

  • Interchangeable Electrodes: Iron / Aluminium / BDD / Titanium

  • Acrylate tank for more durability and corrosion resistance

  • Discharge valves to control the water flow

  • Recirculating pump for continuous treatment

Electrocoagulation Test Equipment Advantages

  • The transparent tank allows the user to clearly see the reactions happening in the main tank and evaluate the treatment effects;

  • The COD reduction can be tested after treatment;

  • Test if the wastewater pH needs to be adjusted;

  • Assess the plates corrosion and consumption during the process;

  • User can find the correct specifications for the best treatment effect on its wastewater

Thanks to the Electrocoagulation and Electrooxidation Test Equipment the client can extensively test the wastewater treatment system and save money, time, and avoid mistakes in the treatment process.
